Hear Ye, Hear Ye, Medieval Castles Have We!

Starting fresh on the 6th October, the class of 8B submerged themselves into the wonders of the Middle Ages. Beginning with the vikings, we learnt all about the Battle Of Hastings and Viking raids. The grade presented a variety of presentations on some of the most famous (or infamous) Danes, including Erik The Red and Leif Eriksson.

After the Norsemen, we were set to learn about the more famous part of Medieval times, involving fair maidens, knights and dragons. The class designed various castles, some of which I have put on display for you. We talked and watched videos on the structure of the average castle, discovering ways of which they created such architecture. We rediscovered how peasants dragged up massive stone slabs, and the function of basic pulleys and the first cranes.

By the end of our journey, we hope to have knowledge on the Viking era, Feudilism, Rights and Rituals of the Medieval people, and, of course, their mythology.
